Welcome to Year 6
Our Class Saint is St. Bernadette
Autumn 1
In Autumn 1 we started to prepare for Confirmation in our R.E. unit where we took a closer look at Saints lives. We also wrote and gave speeches to find our Roles and Responsibilities for this year and had Play Leader Training.
Autumn 2
In Autumn 2 we led the school in the Remembrance day assembly where we shared our research on Local Soldiers from World War 1. We visited St Chad's cathedral and were visited by B-Arts to take part in a project for the upcoming Stoke Centenary Celebrations. At the end of the half term we sewed some amazing Christmas tree ornaments.
Spring 1
Spring 1 saw Year 6 continuing their preparations for their future academic adventures by beginning to use Excel in Computing, learning more vocabulary in French and completing various fieldwork activities in Geography.
Spring 2
In our final half term before our SATS tests we took the opportunity to finalise our last little bits of learning. We also led the school in our final Holy Week celebration and delivered a truly moving Stations of the Cross re-enactment.
Summer 1
They finally arrived, the tests we had been looking forward to all year! In all honesty, the children did us proud and gave it all they could. We could not ask for any more and just hope that the results resemble the achievements that the children deserve.
Summer 2
Not to make any parents cry, but, we've made it. Our final half term in a Primary School! Residential, Star Warts and our last assembly. There won't be a dry eye in the building!
