Long Term Plan Year 4 Expectations
Autumn 1

This half term we have created poems about the start of a school day and shared them with our reading buddies in Year 3, celebrated St Teresa's Feast Day and Our Mother Mary. In Science we have designed classification keys to identify vertebrates and used existing classification keys to identify some weird and wonderful creepy crawlies (or invertebrates if you want to be scientific). We also had our first LKS2 Mass, role-played the story of Jacob's Dreams and explored composition in Art.

In our second half term of being in Year 4, we have continued to make wonderful progress in all areas of the curriculum. We worked on a number of genres in English. From ordering a picture book before writing our own adventures to match the images to publishing our own versions of the 'That's Not My...' books and reading them to our friends in Foundation Stage 1. In Science, we practically became official electricians as we learnt about conductors and insulators as well as creating our own switches to open and close a circuit. Finally, we had our first Year 4 Assembly and we hope that you would agree it was super!
